Garnet Gneiss
A dark gneiss with brown garnet crystals, found and collected by us in quarries in Bavaria, Germany.
This stone originates in the Austrian Alps but was transported to Bavaria by a glacier.
Gneiss is a type of stone that is very common around the world, it most often characterized by its banded texture.
It is one of the most common type of building material, used to create tiles, cobblestones, for building facades as well as creating all kinds of sculptures and jewelry.

How its made
We cut, grind and polish our stones by hand in our small workshop in the beautiful German town of Bad Honnef.
To be able to work the hard stones and achieve a high quality polish, we use diamond coated saw blades, grinding wheels and drills to work our stones.
