Scottish Highland / Ullapool Limestone
A beautiful limestone from the North-West of the Scottish Highlands, with a great black and white contrast.
It comes from local quarries near the town of Ullapool, known as one of the top geological spots in Scotland.
Some of the oldest rocks in Europe can be found here and it became famous among geologist in the Victorian Age as some important discoveries were made in the area that contributed to the development of the concept of plate tectonics.
