Turritella Agate
The unique Turritella Agate comes from the famous Green River Formation, which is located in Wyoming, Utah and Colorado in America.
The Agate contains large amounts of fossilized freshwater snails, these snails lived about 50 million years ago in the lakes of the area.
When the snails died, their shells sank to the bottom of the lake where they were buried under mud and sand.
Over thousands of years these shells then became fossilized and formed the stone that we call Turritella Agate today.
