Handmade German Agate Earrings

These one of a kind pair of earrings are made from a beautiful little agate which we found on the banks of the Rhine in Germany.
The raw stone was crafted into a pair of earrings by hand and with great care to create a beautiful piece of handmade jewelry that is 100% Made in Germany.
The raw stone was cut in half and polished on both the front and the back, while the sides are left in their natural state.

The agate probably originates from the area of Idar-Oberstein, the well known town in Germany which is famous for its natural gemstones and its history in as the centre of German gemstone manufacturing.
It was probably transported by smaller streams until it ended up in the Rhine, who transported the raw agate even further away from its place of origin.
By the time we found the stone, only the core of the agate remained, the rest of the stone got washed away by centuries of travel in the river.
