Handmade pendant made from a fossil coral in limestone (Kössen layers).

Kössen layers
The Kössen layers in the Alps consist of dark limestone and originated from a shallow sea in which isolated coral reefs formed. However, since the sea was only up to 50m deep, the coral reefs were often destroyed by strong waves and so no larger reefs could form.
The age of the fossils is estimated at about 200 million years and the remains of the coral branches can be seen as bright spots or streaks in the dark limestone.
