Gneiss pendant - handmade

Handmade pendant made of gneiss from Bavaria.
We found this stone in a gravel pit in Upper Bavaria. The stone was transported from the Alps to Bavaria by the ice masses of the Inn Glacier. When the glacier retreated, the stone remained behind.

Gneisses are rocks that have been transformed under high pressure and high temperatures and are particularly notable for their banded structure; some of the oldest rocks in the world are gneisses.
