Garnet Gneiss
A dark gneiss with brown garnet crystals, found by us in the Haag region of Upper Bavaria.
The garnet gneiss originally comes from the Alps and was transported to Bavaria by the Inn Glacier.
Gneisses are rocks that have been transformed under high pressure and high temperatures and are particularly notable for their banded structure. Some of the oldest rocks in the world are gneiss. Gneiss is found worldwide and, depending on the parent rock, comes in a variety of colors and textures. It is widely used as a building material for window sills, tiles, paving stones, facade cladding, and even in sculpture.

The production
We saw, grind and polish our pendants by hand in our own small workshop in beautiful Bad Honnef on the Rhine.
For this purpose we use diamond-coated grinding wheels, saw blades and drills to shape and grind the hard stones and to achieve the special shine of the stones through polishing.
