Earrings with Scottish Highland marble in the design of a thistle, the national flower of Scotland.
According to legend, a group of Scottish warriors was saved from an attack by Norsemen by the thistle, as one of the attackers stepped on the prickly plant and cried out in pain, thus alerting the Scots.
Although this story may be fictional, the thistle is one of Scotland's most important symbols and can be found on coats of arms, as decoration on buildings, in company logos and even on police uniforms.
The silver earrings in the thistle design and with real marble from the Highlands are a real piece of Scotland to wear and almost a must-have for Scotland fans!
Scottish Highland Marble
Scottish marble is quarried by hand in the Highlands and on the islands of Iona, Mull, and Skye. Often, diving into the cold Atlantic is necessary to access the exposed veins of the marble.
Each piece of marble is sorted, cut, ground and polished by hand.
On the Scottish islands, green marble has long been considered a lucky stone, and the fishermen on the island of Iona never leave the harbor without their lucky stone in their pockets.
