Lewisian & Garnet Celtic Swirl Ring

Wonderful ring with a hand-mined and polished piece of Scottish Lewisian, set in 925 sterling silver with a sparkling garnet in the swirl.

The ring is adjustable and should fit most fingers, the optimal size for this design is between:
55 - 62 (circumference)

For smaller or larger fingers, the design may be slightly shifted.

Scottish Lewisian
Scottish Lewisian comes from the islands of Lewis, Harris and the northern Highlands.
The raw material is collected by hand and forms the bedrock of Scotland and is one of the oldest rocks in the world, estimated to be 3 billion years old (3,000,000,000 years old!)!
Lewisian Gneiss, as the group of rocks is called, is composed of various minerals such as feldspar, quartz and epidote and this combination of minerals also gives the Lewisian its great colors and structures.
Even the earliest cultures in Scotland used the Lewisian to build important monuments such as stone circles and sacred sites

Garnet has been a popular gemstone since ancient times and has been used in jewelry making for over 5,000 years.
Even the ancient Egyptians set garnet gemstones in gold and silver jewelry or made pearl necklaces from them.
It is particularly popular due to its red color, which is particularly noticeable in a faceted cut .
