This agate was found in Saxony, where there are several known sites where particularly beautiful agates have been found.
Agate is a classic gemstone that has been used by people to make jewelry for thousands of years.
The finely formed bands and the different colors make the agate a particularly sought-after gemstone and collector's item.
Agate is actually a colorless variation of the mineral quartz and the special colors and patterns are created by the inclusion of other minerals such as iron, manganese, chromium and other minerals.

Note: The stone cracked on one side during polishing. This area was repaired with epoxy resin and polished again.
