Handmade pendant made of quartz crystals from the Rhine.
Quartz is the second most common mineral in the Earth's crust and so it is not surprising that it also occurs in the Rhine. Quartz crystals are transparent in their pure form, in which case they are called rock crystal, but crystals that are milky white, grey, yellow or brownish are often found. These are mostly so-called milk quartz; inclusions of other liquids or minerals such as iron give the crystals a different color.
