Snail fossil pendant - handmade

Handmade pendant made from a fossil snail (Actaeonella or Gosau snail).

Gosau snail
This snail once lived on the bottom of a prehistoric sea about 80 million years ago. After the snail died, it sank into the mud of the seafloor and over time became this wonderful fossil.
This fossil was found in the Alps in Austria, near the town of Gosau in the Salzkammergut and therefore this species is also called Gosau snail.
