Sodalite deposits can be found in many countries around the world, it frequently originates from Canada, Brazil, Afghanistan or various countries across Africa.

Sodalite is often confused with lapis lazuli. However, it is easy to distinguish as sodalite typically features a darker, earthier blue tone and lacks the golden pyrite inclusions characteristic of lapis lazuli.
