Handmade limestone pendant with fossil snails (Actaeonella or Gosau snail).
Gosau snail This snail once lived on the bottom of a prehistoric sea about 80 million years ago. After the snail died, it sank into the mud of the seafloor and over time became this wonderful fossil. This fossil was found in the Alps in Austria, near the town of Gosau in the Salzkammergut and therefore this species is also called Gosau snail.
The production We saw, grind and polish our pendants by hand in our own small workshop in beautiful Bad Honnef on the Rhine. For this purpose we use diamond-coated grinding wheels, saw blades and drills to shape and grind the hard stones and to achieve a beautiful shine by polishing them.
